The Philippine NATIONAL UNIVERSITY per Republic Act 9500 (2008) and the flagship campus of the UP System (8 constituent universities). Founded 18 June 1908 by the American colonial Philippine Commission via RA 1870 — modeled on the American land-grant university tradition.
