Formed on 1 January 2018 through the merger of Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV, humanities — heir to the historic Sorbonne tradition tracing to ~1150) and Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI, sciences and medicine). Approximately 55,000 students across three faculties: Arts and Humanities; Sciences and Engineering; Medicine. QS World University Rankings consistently top 60 globally. Through Pierre and Marie Curie heritage, Sorbonne University inherits the legacy of Pierre Curie and Marie Curie (Physics Nobel 1903, Chemistry Nobel 1911 — Marie is the first person to win Nobels in two sciences). Member of LERU (League of European Research Universities). ⚠️ NOTE: Sorbonne University (formed 2018) was MISSING from the AlmiStudy collector file; the collector included Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris 1) which is a different university despite the shared 'Sorbonne' name. Added as critical curator entry.

We list institutions whose accreditation we have verified against a recognized national or international accrediting body. Listing does not vouch for any specific program's recognition by destination-country regulators, individual admissions outcomes, or post-graduation credential transferability.
When you click through to a university's website, you are interacting with that institution's admissions process under their terms. Our responsibility ends at pointing you to a verified-accreditation institution.
