Founded in 1794 during the French Revolution to train the nation's intellectual elite, the École Normale Supérieure (ENS Paris, also called 'Ulm' after rue d'Ulm) is one of the most prestigious institutions in France. Component of PSL (Paris Sciences et Lettres) University since 2010. Approximately 2,500 students. Highly selective admission via the 'concours' competitive exam — perhaps the most competitive academic admission in France. ENS Paris has produced **14 Fields Medalists** (mathematics' highest honour — more than any other institution worldwide), 14 Nobel laureates, and most of France's modern intellectual leadership including Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Henri Bergson, Louis Pasteur, Michel Foucault. ⚠️ NOTE: ENS Paris was MISSING from the collector file — added as essential curator entry.

We list institutions whose accreditation we have verified against a recognized national or international accrediting body. Listing does not vouch for any specific program's recognition by destination-country regulators, individual admissions outcomes, or post-graduation credential transferability.
When you click through to a university's website, you are interacting with that institution's admissions process under their terms. Our responsibility ends at pointing you to a verified-accreditation institution.
