Founded 1928 (chartered as the Far Eastern College on 4 June 1928 by Dr Nicanor Reyes Sr through merger of the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance with the Far Eastern College of Liberal Arts; granted university status 1934 as Far Eastern University — the FIRST NON-SECTARIAN UNIVERSITY in the Philippines). Major private non-sectarian university in Manila, located at the Sampaloc campus (Nicanor Reyes Street). Founded 4 June 1928 as Far Eastern College by Dr Nicanor Reyes Sr — granted university status 4 January 1934, becoming the FIRST NON-SECTARIAN UNIVERSITY in the Philippines (UST, Ateneo, DLSU were all Catholic; Silliman and CPU were Protestant). Distinguished art-deco campus designed by Pablo Antonio (one of the National Artists for Architecture). Institutes: Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF — flagship), Architecture and Fine Arts, Arts and Sciences, Education, Law (Institute of Law), Nursing, Tourism.
