Major Yemeni private university with historic name. Chartered 1995. NAMED AFTER QUEEN ARWA AL-SULAYHI (1048-1138, ruled Yemen ~1067-1138) — ONE OF THE GREATEST MUSLIM WOMEN RULERS IN HISTORY. Queen Arwa was Ismaili Shia Sulayhid dynasty ruler from her capital JIBLA, ruled Yemen for 71 YEARS (one of LONGEST FEMALE REIGNS in Islamic history), patron of mosques + education, gave full Khutbah recognition (unique honor for a woman).
