Founded August 2008 (Maseru campus; global network founded 1991 in Malaysia). The Lesotho campus of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, a Malaysia-headquartered global education network founded 1991 with campuses in Botswana, Cambodia, Eswatini, and elsewhere. The Maseru campus opened in August 2008 with 1,200 pioneer students across 54 creative-industry programmes. Founded 1945 (as Pius XII College); became National University of Lesotho in 1975. Lesotho's flagship public university and the country's premier institution of higher education, located in Roma in the Maseru District. Originated as Pius XII College (Roman Catholic) in 1945, later became part of the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (1964–1975), and acquired its current name and autonomy in 1975. Chancellor: His Majesty King Letsie III. Faculties span Education, Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Health Sciences, Agriculture, and Postgraduate Studies. Statutory regulator: Lesotho Higher Education Act 2004 (CHE accreditation). Ranked #1 in Lesotho. Affiliated nursing institutions include Roma College of Nursing.
